This piece could of been part of the Royal Jewels or Church’s gemstones. To have a piece of History from 1622 (400 years old) and from one of the (if not THE) most Famous Treasure Galleons of all time is a RARE Opportunity!!!
These Emeralds were so coveted, that the Spanish Government actually took control of the “Muzo Mines” from the Muzo Tribe, which were first discovered by the Spaniards in Colombia in 1536. Located at over 6,000 feet the mine is located northwest of Bogota. Once mined the tourturist trip down the Andes to the port of Cartagena had to either be made by horseback or down the Magdalena River. Truly a gemstone part of a 400 yr. History!
